Civics for Middle and High School What does it mean to be an informed and responsible citizen? In this civics course, students will explore the foundations of government, the rights and responsibilities of citizens, and how individuals can participate in shaping their communities and country. Students will examine the structure and functions of the United States government, including the Constitution, the three branches of government, and the system of checks and balances. They will also study key ideas such as types of government, rule of law, individual rights, and civic responsibility. Throughout the course, students will explore important historical documents, landmark events, and real-world issues that continue to shape society today. This course encourages students to become active, thoughtful participants in civic life by helping them understand how government works and why their voice matters. Perfect for students who want to better understand their rights, their responsibilities, and their role in society. A student's spot is reserved for the course once payment is made in full, or arrangements have been made for direct billing. Refunds will not be given after the first day of class. In the event a student is waitlisted, Back to Basics will contact the family directly if a spot opens up.
