Service Description
Find your voice and learn to use it with confidence! In this dynamic debate course, students will develop the skills needed to think critically, speak persuasively, and engage thoughtfully with a wide range of topics. Students will learn how to build strong arguments using clear claims, relevant evidence, and logical reasoning. They will explore techniques for effective public speaking, including organization, delivery, and persuasive strategies, while also learning how to listen carefully and respond to opposing viewpoints with respect and confidence. Throughout the course, students will participate in structured debates, discussions, and presentations on current events, ethical issues, and real-world topics. They will practice research skills, evaluate sources, and learn how to support their ideas with credible evidence. This course emphasizes respectful dialogue, open-minded thinking, and the ability to communicate ideas clearly and effectively—skills that are valuable in school and beyond. Perfect for students who enjoy discussion, current events, and developing confidence in speaking and argumentation. Cancellation Policy
A student's spot is reserved for the course once payment is made in full, or arrangements have been made for direct billing. Refunds will not be given after the first day of class. In the event a student is waitlisted, Back to Basics will contact the family directly if a spot opens up.
